Term of Employment
February 4, 2019-March 29, 2019 (with potential of being offered full-time Program Coordinator positions with the ASRCNL)
General Requirements
• All applicants must provide a criminal record check from the RCMP;
• Have some previous experience in organizing and carrying out community recreational and sports activities;
• Be fluent in English and able to prepare typed reports on all aspects of the responsibilities of the position;
• Be able to use Word Perfect or Word processing programs. Also, the ability to use the Internet, email and other forms of computer research and communication is a requirement;
• Provide references from previous employer;
• Be a resident of Newfoundland or Labrador;
• Be an Aboriginal person from one of the Newfoundland or Labrador First Nations, or of Labrador Inuit Ancestry
• To travel to the assigned Aboriginal Communities of Newfoundland Labrador for extended periods;
• Be able to work independently, or as a team member, to carry out directions from the Executive Director or the Chair and the Board of Directors;
Preferred but Not Required Personal attributes
• Have experience living in an isolated aboriginal community, or an aboriginal community;
Preferred Personal Attributes
Be of aboriginal ancestry; have post-secondary degree in education or social sciences; or diploma in community recreation or related training or related experience: strong skills in report and proposal writing; interviewing and collecting information from key community individuals; experience in public speaking; some experience in implementing and supervising projects; knowledge of, and athletic experience in mainstream or culturally based sport, recreation or physical activity

$40,000 to $55,000 Annual Salary based on experience and education or a combination of both
